Hi, I’m Kristin st jean, rn, bsn, ccrn

As a functional medicine registered nurse with over a decade of experience in critical care, I combine my knowledge and expertise with a passion for holistic care to help patients achieve a healed state of balance, health, and wellbeing.

After spending years with the sickest, most critically ill patients in cardiac, medical, and surgical ICU’s, I found that patients seemed to be getting sicker, more complex, and more chronically ill.  The same patients would return back to the unit sicker than the last time they came, and with a longer list of medications.  I didn’t feel like I was helping anyone anymore.  My personal life and the way I lived looked a lot different from my patients.  I used the tools I learned in nursing school to treat myself and live holistically.  I have had a passion for fitness and eating well to power my adventures through marathons, mountain running, ultrarunning, and backcountry skiing.  In my search for a solution to help patients to find a state of wellness, I found functional medicine. I obtained my certificate in functional medicine through the Functional Medicine for Nurses course provided by the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy and the Institute for Functional Medicine. Functional medicine will help you find the root cause of your condition, find ways to restore health and make positive changes for a happier, healthier life.  I look forward to connecting with you and encouraging you on your path to healing.

My Approach

As a holistic integrative nurse, I offer a conventional and complementary approach to healthcare that is focused on caring for the whole person, not just an organ system. In a relaxed environment, I listen to your health concerns and together we make a care plan towards healing and a healthier life.

consultation

We’ll start by meeting you where you are on your health journey, take a deep dive into your story, and create a comprehensive plan using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, End Goal) goals to meet your health goals.

Follow Up

In 4-6 weeks we’ll meet for a full 60 minutes to follow up on your goals and create new care plans as needed. Prior to this visit, we will have biweekly 15 minute check ins.

Run Coaching

An aspect of being a nurse that I love is the coaching and educational component. As an experienced and passionate life-long runner, this tied in perfectly with becoming a run coach. I have a background of countless 5K’s, 10K’s, and half marathons. I have run multiple road marathons and ultra mountain marathons ranging from 50K to 50 mile distance. I have been self-coached and coached by others for over 15 years. I am a UESCA certified run coach and use evidenced based, customized training plans to help you meet your running goals. My approach is to work holistically with the runner, including syncing menstrual cycles with training plans, strength training, and nutritional guidance.
